Matthew 9:37-38 (MSG)
When he looked out over the crowds, his heart broke. So confused and aimless they were, like sheep with no shepherd. “What a huge harvest!” he said to his disciples. “How few workers! On your knees and pray for harvest hands!”
Jesus has compassion for people! All people! He sees them as sheep without a shepherd, in need of someone to love them into a relationship with the father. As we look out over our city, county, and state we see populations of people in need of a shepherd. Someone to love them and point them to the One who makes all things new. He rebuilds what sin has broken in our lives. The jails and prisons are filled with people who Jesus’ heart breaks for! We are moved with compassion to bring the Light of Jesus into the darkness of the jails and prisons of Arkansas.
Every week our Journey Behind Bars team ministers to Journeyer’s who are incarcerated. Acceptance, Love, and Service are experienced each and every week by those who need it the most.
Isaiah 6:8 (NLT) Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”
