Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. (James 1:27)
At the Journey we take that scripture very serious. We believe that in our country Foster Children are our modern day orphans. So we as Journeyers have engaged in the fight! We believe that God has asked us as believers to do everything within our power to not just care for, but to engage in the ongoing battle for these kids hearts and futures!
We do that in a variety of ways, through both encouraging our people to get involved in the foster system, whether by becoming foster parents, casa workers, etc. and by connecting with our local DHS hubs to serve and assist them in whatever needs arise.
Since our partnership began in 2012 we have been able to give away over 300 pairs of new shoes, host an annual pool party at an area water park, given away over 150 stockings full of Christmas fun, and the list goes on!
If you want to help us help them, get off the sidelines and together we can make a difference. Fill out a communication card and we will help you take the next step!
